Nudge Education – Usage of Slack

Our Slack workspace is a collaborative and inclusive platform designed to facilitate communication and teamwork.

To ensure a positive and respectful environment, we ask all members to adhere to the following policy:

Respect and Inclusivity

We are proud of the diverse backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives that make up our team. In all Slack interactions, we expect every member to treat others with courtesy, kindness, and respect. Language and tone should be inclusive and considerate, free from any offensive or discriminatory remarks. We aim to create an environment where every voice is valued and all individuals feel safe and heard.

Professionalism

Slack is a professional space, and the way we communicate here should reflect that. Personal attacks, inappropriate language, or any form of harassment are not acceptable. Additionally, we ask that team members refrain from sharing confidential or sensitive information in public channels. Private channels or direct messages should be used for any communication that requires discretion.

Collaboration and Communication

Slack is a key tool for supporting collaboration across the organisation. We encourage open dialogue and knowledge-sharing that helps us all learn and grow. To help keep discussions accessible and easy to navigate, please use the most appropriate channels for each topic. Organised communication makes it easier for everyone to stay informed and contribute meaningfully.

Minimising Disruptions

To maintain a focused and productive workspace, avoid spamming channels with repetitive or irrelevant content. Likewise, direct messages and mentions should be used thoughtfully and never for unsolicited or disruptive communication.

Using Channels Thoughtfully

We ask that channels be used according to their intended purpose. This helps keep conversations relevant and well-organised. Before creating a new channel, consider whether an existing one could serve the same purpose — keeping things streamlined helps everyone.

Time Zone Awareness

With colleagues potentially working across various time zones, it’s important to be considerate when posting messages or scheduling discussions. Where possible, use Slack’s scheduling features to avoid sending messages outside of someone’s working hours.

Reporting Concerns

If you experience or witness behaviour that goes against this Code of Conduct, we ask that you report it to your Line Manager promptly. In situations where the Line Manager may be involved in the concern, please reach out directly to Human Resources. All reports will be treated seriously and handled with care, ensuring that appropriate steps are taken following a fair investigation.

Alignment with Wider Policies

This Code of Conduct is part of our broader commitment to a positive working culture. All expectations outlined here should be followed alongside our wider organisational policies and guidance.

By using Slack at Nudge, you agree to uphold the standards set out in this Code of Conduct. Breaches may lead to disciplinary action, including removal of Slack access where necessary.

We appreciate your commitment to making Slack a space where collaboration, respect, and professionalism flourish.
